GEOMETRY IN OTHER BRANCHES OF ART - FASHION

Classical geometry culminated with Euclid's Elements (325 BC-265 BC approx.), which established a mathematical, logical and rigorous model to describe the plane and space, revising the geometric knowledge developed until then. However, classical geometry was not concerned with issues related to life, art or specific applications. Thus, the subject of dress, except for the upper social classes, was not a subject of mathematical attention in ancient Greece. Nevertheless, there are twelve geometric resources that are used in an essential way in the world of fashion, some of them being the following:

Lienal, superfcial and volumetrics measures

Determine sizes

Patterns

Including shapes and sizes

Curves and straight lines, paralelism and perpendicular ones

Allow us to draw different patterns

Angles

Found in every design, pattern, etc.

Plain geometric figures (circles, poligons, etc)

Are part of the design and its decorations

Spatial geimetric figures

Determine volumes or are the basis of geometric mode

On the other hand, designers have also classified the human body according to geometry in order to be able to advise with arguments that fit better on each of us. The following diagram gives an overview of the facial figures:
